This childlike wonderment continued into adulthood & was further solidified when my future husband took me to a vintage flea market for our first date. Several years later, we had our daughter who also continued to keep the generational spark alive just like the rest of the family.
In 2001, my husband & I took a Sunday drive for a break out of the city and happened upon a local newspaper where there was a tiny ad for a 7-acre farm. A week later, we bought the farm on a handshake. And moved in 23 days later.

The property, on the National Register of Historic Places for its Greek Revival architecture, was once a substantial working farmstead but in its later years, had been managed by an elderly bachelor who cared more about the barn than the house. It needed love. Lots of love.
And, lots of love we gave it indeed. With all this new space we expanded our family- to horses, llamas, dogs, chickens & pot-bellied pigs, to name a few. We also discovered the numerous quaint rooms in our barn’s granary with its Cream City brick and patina barn wood & thought to ourselves This could be a special place. Thus, The Peddlers
Thus, The Peddlers Barn was born.
Today, The Peddlers Barn is a labor of love that our family, friends & community have embraced. You can find us in our barn & at various pop-up markets throughout Spring, Summer and Fall- we’d love to share the goodness with you.
